Although Lego’s gone with a different approach this year, Toys R’ Us was still able to get the sets earlier than the official release date (January 31st, 2012).

I personally saw the sets for sale at my local Toys R’ Us, but with significant price hikes. The only set not present was the 9494 Anakin’s Jedi Interceptor, which is an exclusive at Target. You can get a complete list of prices below:
Lego 9488 Elite Clone Trooper and Commando Droids Battle Pack – MSRP: $12.99 | TRU Price: $14.99
Lego 9489 Endor Rebel Trooper and Imperial Trooper Battle Pack – MSRP: $12.99 | TRU Price: $14.99
Lego 9490 Droid Escape – MSRP: $19.99 | TRU Price: $21.99
Lego 9491 Geonosian Cannon – MSRP: $19.99 | TRU Price: $21.99
Lego 9492 TIE Fighter – MSRP: $54.99 | TRU Price: $59.99
Lego 9493 X-Wing Starfighter – MSRP: $59.99 | TRU Price: $69.99
Lego 9495 Gold Leader’s Y-Wing Starfighter – MSRP: $49.99 | TRU Price: $59.99
Lego 9674 MINI Naboo Starfighter and Naboo – MSRP: $9.99 | TRU Price: $11.99
Lego 9675 MINI Sebulba’s Podracer and Tatooine – MSRP: $9.99 | TRU Price: $11.99
Lego 9676 MINI TIE Interceptor and Death Star – MSRP: $9.99 | TRU Price: $11.99
Based on these prices, the price hikes aren’t really anything new- until you get to the bigger sets. The TIE Fighter, X-Wing and Y-Wing starfighters have all been raised $10 from the manufacturer’s suggested retail price. That’s fairly significant. As a collector myself, I would advise you all to purchase these sets when they come out on Tuesday. Excluding the sets that have been raised $10 from their MSRPs, you can pick up the sets now from Toys R’ Us if you really can’t wait, and if you don’t mind paying the extra $2. Happy shopping!
