Lego Star Wars 10129 Rebel Snowspeeder Ultimate Collectors Series from “The Empire Strikes Back” was originally a T-47 airspeeder designed for industrial cargo handling. The T-47 was later renamed Snowspeeder after it was widely used at Echo Base at Hoth. The Snowspeeder underwent numerous modifications by the Rebel Alliance to a patrol, reconnaissance and combat aircraft adapting it to climate conditions and environment. Its smaller size, speed and maneuverability enabled the Snowspeeder avoid enemy fire. Dual Laser Cannons, harpoon gun, and Computerized targeting systems armed the Snowspeeder. The Snowspeeder was not equipped with shields, therefore, making it necessary to install armor plating to the hull where it was most vulnerable to enemy fire, which made it much heavier. A highly advanced power plant and repulsorlift engines were installed to offset the additional weight from the weaponry and armor plating.
