Lego Star Wars 4486 Mini-AT-ST and Snowspeeder from “The Empire Strikes Back” was a miniature version of the AT-ST and Snowspeeder. It was one in the series of Mini Building Sets from Lego. Extra pieces were included in this set, as with purchases of three additional (4484, 4485, and 4487) sets. Collecting all four sets, and combining the extra pieces included, allowed you to build the MINI TIE Bomber.
The Snowspeeder was originally a T-47 airspeeder designed for industrial cargo handling. The T-47 was later renamed Snowspeeder after it was widely used at Echo Base at Hoth. The Snowspeeder underwent numerous modifications by the Rebel Alliance to a patrol, reconnaissance and combat aircraft adapting it to climate conditions and environment. Its smaller size, speed and maneuverability enabled the Snowspeeder avoid enemy fire. Dual Laser Cannons, harpoon gun, and Computerized targeting systems armed the Snowspeeder. The Snowspeeder was not equipped with shields, therefore, making it necessary to install armor plating to the hull where it was most vulnerable to enemy fire, which made it much heavier. A highly advanced power plant and repulsorlift engines were installed to offset the additional weight from the weaponry and armor plating.
The AT-ST was a bipedal walker used by the Galactic Empire. It was a heavily armed light ground combat vehicle. AT-STs were equipped with a "chin" mounted double medium blaster cannon, a concussion grenade launcher, and a blaster cannon. Even with this, it was only designed for recon hit and run situations. Its armor was only enough to protect it from infantry gunfire. Its bipedal propulsion was also one of its weaknesses. Although it could achieve up to 90 mph, on rough terrain it could easily lose its balance and fall over.
