BrickWars Sets Description Lego Star Wars 7146 Tie Fighter from “The Original Trilogy” T.I.E. abbreviated for Twin Ion Engine fighter was the predecessor to the Imperial TIE starfighter and its variants. It was first to use a ball-shaped cockpit with a vertical wing design similar in terms of shape to its descendants. These fighters were economical to build and easily deployed into combat from tightly packed launch bays in ordinary cargo holds. Twin Ion Engine, a powerful propulsion unit linked to a solar ionization reactor and solar array wings made the TIE fighter incredibly fast, however, hyperdrive, shields and life support systems were incompatible with its overall design. As far as armament, one or more laser cannons usually armed the TIE fighter.
The Lego 7146 TIE Fighter contains 169 pieces and includes 2 minifigures.
