Pro's:
- A good update to a ship first released in 2003.
- Better design than the 2003 version.
- Includes an updated version of the Geonosian mini-figure.

Con's:
- Price is not in line with what one would expect for the size of the set.
- Geonosian mini-figure doesn't have wings as one of the Geonosian mini-figures did in the 2003 set.

The biggest problem of this set is its price. It's MSRP $10 more than the 2003 set but 14 less pieces and works out to be $0.19 per brick (the 2003 set was $0.12 per brick). I got lucky and found it on sale for $4.50 less than MSRP, but even at that price I paid $0.16 per brick which is still way too much.

The MSRP pricing problem this year is really evident with this set when compared to others. The 7956 Ewok Attack has 11 more pieces and is $5 cheaper than this set. The 7957 Sith Nightspeeder has 59 more pieces and is $5 cheaper. All of them are over priced, but this one is even more over priced than the others.

The Geonosian mini-figure doesn't have wings or a gun. The Commander Cody Clone Trooper came with a set of Clone accessories, some of which are not used so there is no reason why the Geonosian mini-figure doesn't have wings and a gun for use when it is outside the ship.

Overall I give this set a 6 of 10. Most of that is due to price. If it sold for the same price as the 2003 set then it would be an 8 or 9. Having a couple accessories (wings and weapon) for the Geonosian mini-figure would help too, but not at the MSRP.
