BrickWars Sets Description Lego 7962 Anakin's and Sebulba's Podracers were featured in Episode I: The Phantom Menace during the Boonta Eve Classic Podrace. After Qui-Gon Jinn placed a bet on Skywalker, saying that he would go free if he won, the young slave boy was inspired to win the race. If he did, he would not only secure his freedom, but win an expensive engine for Jinn, so that they could get off of Tatooine and return to Naboo with Padme Amidala. The beginning of the podrace eliminated many participants who proved to be unskilled or unfortunate enough to face some foul play. By the time of the third lap, only Anakin and Sebulba remained...Anakin's podracer was a custom-built model. Anakin assembled it over a long period, getting parts from Watto's junkyard, where he worked as a repair man. It consisted of two large engines and a cockpit. The engines were Radon-Ulzer 620c turbines, which Anakin had modified. The fuel injection system was improved, resulting in better thrust. He also added on three yellow air scoops to each turbine, allowing the vehicle to make much sharper turns. The cockpit was relatively simple and could only fit the pilot. It was attached to the engines via steelton control cables. The podracer could reach speeds of up to 941kmph. Anakin painted the cockpit and parts of the engines blue as well, giving it a sense of individuality. Sebulba's podracer was a Plug-F Mammoth manufactured by Collor Pondrat. As its name implies, it was a massive podracer. The front ends of the podracer's engines were designed in a split X formation and allowed the vehicle to reach speeds of up to 829kmph. The engines were powered by tradium power fluid pressurized with quold runium, which was activated with ionized injectrine. This gave the podracer a speed boost, but was illegal. The cockpit was attached to the split X engines by two steelton cables. Sebulba's podracer was large, intimidating, and lethal. He equipped it with many illegal attachments, such as buzz saws, flamethrowers and nail shooters. He also used the podracer's sturdy build to his advantage, as he would ram into opponents to send them off-course and into obstacles. His podracer was fairly slow compared to Anakin's and several other podracers, so his victories in races past were a result of his cheating and not his skill as a podracer.
The Lego 7962 Anakin's and Sebulba's Podracers contains 810 pieces and includes 5 minifigures.
