BrickWars Sets Description Lego 8091 Star Wars Republic Swamp Speeder, or Infantry Support Platform (ISP), was a repulsorlift speeder used by the Republic during the Clone Wars for swamp combat. The ISP was one of many specialized speeders created for use by the Republic. The Republic required many different types of speeders likely because it warred on planets with varying terrains, temperatures, etc. Like the Freeco speeder, which was built for use on planets with sub-zero temperatures, the Republic swamp speeder was built for use on planets with marshy, swampy terrain. The speeder is almost completely circular and protected by an armored shell. It required two clone troopers to operate; one for piloting the vehicle and the other for manning the guns. On the rear of the vehicle was a turbofan, which, along with the repulsorlift drive, helped move it through swamps. It was armed with twin blaster cannons mounted on the front of the vehicle. These were extremely effective against Separatist ground infantry units, such as battle droids and super battle droids and even Corporate Alliance tank droids.
The Lego 8091 Republic Swamp Speeder contains 176 pieces and includes 5 minifigures.

Lego "Shop @ Home" Description Battle Separatists on any terrain! Swampy planets like Kashyyyk are no problem for the Republic swamp speeder! With hidden wheels for “hovering” action and flick-firing blasters that automatically move when you rotate the engine, this armed and armored vehicle from the Clone Wars is ready to fight against the Separatists’ droids wherever they attack.

Reviews Posted December 12, 2010 by Callum Coghlan, United Kingdom Put quite simply, I bought this set for the minifigures. This is the only set to boast an ordinary Clone with phase II armour, not seen since 2007, and Barriss Offee, who LEGO have made perfectly. The three droids were also great. |
